Shake It Off!

Our popular dance fitness class with a twist – Shake It Off is a monthly pop music video inspired dance class hosted by Chloe Senior of Kinetic Dance & Wellbeing! You’ll not only learn *that* routine you’ve been wanting to know since the 90s, you’ll also:

Write Here, Right Now

Monthly writers’ workshop, meet up and sharing. Write Here Right Now, brought to you by Girl Gang Manchester and poet, theatre-maker and journalist, Gemma Lees, is a safe and supportive space to explore different forms of writing, share works in progress, receive constructive feedback, find out about writing opportunities in the North West and make new friends and contacts amongst other writers.

Angst Aerobics

Angst Aerobics is an emotional exorcism through exercise! A physical, mental and emotional letting off of steam part way between boogie-ing in your bedroom, the dancefloor at 3am and a theatre workshop in an exercise class setting. Conceptualised and led by Megan Marie Griffith, we run Angst sessions monthly as part of our regular events series and it’s also been booked for festivals, conferences and pop up events.

Itch That Scratch

An accessible, multi disciplinary evening of creative works in progress hosted by Contact Theatre Manchester. Scratch some creative itches with us as an audience member, collaborator or commentator. Expect unfinished, unready and exciting work from artists of all flavours and varieties.

100% That Stitch!

100% That Stitch! is Girl Gang Manchester’s meet and make craft social. Created as part of our lockdown programme, 100% That Stitch! was designed as a space to facilitate connection, creativity, and lift our spirits when we were all isolated.

Speed Mate-ing

It can be hard making new friends as an adult, can’t it? Fear not, with 7 years of success, Speed Mate-ing with Girl Gang Manchester is here to help! After all this time, there’s still nothing that melts our hearts more than watching the wonder of new friendships blossoming before us!

Build A Better Future: Book Club

‘Build a Better Future’ is Girl Gang Manchester’s space for facilitated discussion surrounding socially engaged literature in a non-judgemental, friendly environment. Beginning in 2020 as an Anti-Racist Media Club, in response to the UK’s wave of Black Lives Matter protests, BABF expands to discuss a variety of identities and issues which are interlinked through a critical, intersectional lens.

Build A Better Future: Action Point

Think of Build a Better Future: Action Point as the cool sibling to our Book Club. The sessions will happen in the same time slot (last Thursday of the month, 6:30- 8:30pm) and you’ll be able to join in person or online.

Sharing Circles

We will be hosting monthly sharing circles to come together and explore topics we are currently effected by, from whatever perspective you have, whether positive, negative, questioning, neutral- all input is equally welcome and valid. This is a “held space” with some gentle facilitation to break the ice and get people talking at the beginning before opening the floor to participants for the majority of the session. The facilitator will always have a personal relationship to the topic and is there to reach out to before/during/after if ever you need, but is mainly there to ensure all who wish to get to speak.

Gassing With The Galdem

Gassing with the Galdem was our weekly social space for women of colour & people of marginalised genders to speak freely without having to self-moderate for a white presence from June 2020- Feb 2021, when the group went offline and continues independently of Girl Gang.

Trivial Women

Trivial Women is a quiz with a difference, celebrating the not so trivial women of music, literature, film and beyond. We invited participants to join us in teams of no more than six, to swot up, show off their knowledge, and accompany us for 2 hours of quiz fun!

Coffee Philosophy

Moderated by a Girl Ganger at all times to ensure a safe, respectful environment, Girl Gang Manchester presented it’s new solution to the loneliness epidemic: Coffee Philosophy. Built on the same values as our sell out Speed Mate-ing nights, Coffee Philosophy offered the people of Manchester a chance to broaden their social circles and their minds.
